Heineken boosts profits

Heineken, the Amsterdam-based brewer, reported net profit excluding extraordinary items rose by 23% to €1.12 bn last year.

Turnover grew by 6% to €12.56 bn, news agency ANP reports. The results were in the range forecast earlier by the company.
The brewer expects profit growth from existing activities this year. Prices of raw materials are expected to rise by 15%, the company said. But these increases will be passed on to the consumers, who will have to pay 2-3% more for their beer.
