Green power subsidy cash ‘not enough’

Insufficient resources have been made available for the new green power subsidy (SDE) to achieve the government’s environmental targets, according to experts who addressed parliament on the issue yesterday, reports Thursday’s Volkskrant.

The SDE, which will start in April, has a budget of €1m this year, going up to €336m in 2015.
‘The budgets are totally insufficient,’ Martijn Blom of the CE energy consultancy in Delft told MPs.
The Netherlands currently produces 2.5% of its electricity from renewable sources but wants but wants to double this by 2011.
