Grey geese found within 10 kilometres of Schiphol airport runways can be either shot or captured and their eggs destroyed, the Noord-Holland provincial government said on Tuesday.

The province says between 5,000 and 10,000 geese are gathering around the airport, forming a danger to air traffic. The current shooting limit is six kilometres.
