Foreign savings amnesty raises €135m
Some 4,500 people with savings or other assets abroad have voluntarily registered them with the tax office, raising €135m for the treasury, the finance ministry reported on Wednesday.
Last year the amnesty for people with unregistered interests abroad raised €21m, news agency ANP said. Those who do not come forward face a fine and possible criminal proceedings.
