Dutch lose medical charity case
The Dutch government has lost a second legal case against medical charity Medecines Sans Frontieres over a €1m ransom paid to rescue aid worker Arjan Erkel from gunmen in Dagestan.
The Netherlands has not only lost its appeal to claim €770,000 back from the charity, but must pay MSF’s €230,000 share of the ransom and legal costs, a court in Geneva decided.
