Disability rules are failing, says union
New rules covering disability benefit (WIA) do not do enough to keep people who are only partially disabled in work, says trade union federation FNV in Wednesday’s Volkskrant.
A test group of 300 claimants showed that only 17% of those who are considered less than 35% disabled are still doing their jobs, the FNV said. This group is not entitled to benefits under the new WIA system, which replaced the WAO in 2006.
