‘The Dutch cabinet does not have a preference for who will be the next US president and nor do individual members of the cabinet,’ prime minister Jan Peter Balkenende said on Tuesday evening.
Balkenende’s comments follow finance minister Wouter Bos’ support for Barack Obama, on tv show RTLZ. Obama is one of the top runners as the Democrats’ presidential candidate.
Bos told the programme he hoped a Democrat would reach the White House. He also said he preferred Obama to Hillary Clinton because he was the most inspirational.
