ABN Amro wholesale carve-up ‘almost done’
Jan de Ruiter, previously responsible for takeover activities within ABN Amro, will be appointed to lead the newly formed Dutch division of Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), according to Monday’s Financieele Dagblad.
The reorganisation of the ABN Amro wholesale organisation which is now owned by RBS is nearly complete, reports the paper, and important appointments will be announced internally later this week. The paper bases its report on sources connected to the reorganisation.
Following the takeover by a consortium led by RBS, the Dutch bank’s wholesale activities were divided between the Scottish bank and Belgium insurer Fortis. RBS took over the largest companies, with medium and small companies going to Fortis.
