Value of takeovers almost doubled in 2007
The value of takeovers in corporate Holland almost doubled last year to €242bn, according to research by legal website overfusies.nl.
In total, 731 deals were made, one less than in 2006, the website says.
The biggest deal last year was the €71bn takeover of ABN Amro bank. Others include Akzo Nobel’s acquisition of Britain’s ICI for nearly €12bn and Numico’s takeover by Danone for just over €12bn.
