Two Afghans killed in exchange of fire

Two Afghans were killed and five were wounded during an exchange of fire with Dutch soldiers in the southern province of Uruzgan, the defence ministry announced on Sunday.

One of the dead is a child, as are three of the wounded. No Dutch soldiers were hit.
The incident happened on Friday after a Dutch tank was hit by an explosive outside Khorma, the Volkskrant reports. The soldiers then came under attack from machine guns and a rocket launcher fired from nearby houses and fought back.
The three wounded children were treated in the hospital at Camp Holland in Tarin Kowt, says the Volkskrant. Villagers took the other wounded to a hospital in Tarin Kowt.
