FC Twente suffered their first defeat in three months against Rotterdam’s Feyenoord on Thursday evening. Feyenoord came back from a lacklustre first half to win the match 3-1 on home ground.
Feyenoord’s goals were scored by Luigi Bruins, Roy Makaay en Tim de Cler.
‘We’re back,’ Feyenoord trainer Bert van Marwijk said to reporters after the duel. But he added a note of caution: ‘One swallow doesn’t make a summer’.
The win puts Feyenoord into joint third place in the league with FC Groningen on 39 points. Ajax is on 40 and PSV on 43 from 20 matches.
