Christopher Devries, former managing director of Citibank in Amsterdam and president of the American Chamber of Commerce in the Netherlands between 2000 and 2006, has died unexpectedly at the age of 59.

Friday’s Financieele Dagblad carried a whole page of tributes to Devries sent in by organisations he has been involved with, as well as the staff of the US embassy.
Devries, who was born in Britain, lived in Amsterdam and was a Knight of the Order of Orange Nassau.
