Sticking plaster to aid treatment Alzheimer’s
A plaster that will simplify the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease is to be introduced today at a medical convention in Zeist, anp news service reports on Thursday.
Through the patch the drug rivastigmine is distributed evenly throughout the body of the Alzheimer’s patient.
Two-thirds of patients questioned in a US survey said they prefer the patch to other ways of receiving medication.
Around 200,000 people in the Netherlands suffer from Alzheimer’s disease, says ANP news service. After heart disease and cancer it is the biggest fatal disease in the Netherlands.
