State tv sponsoring in spotlight

Culture minister Ronald Plasterk has asked the media commission to investigate the sponsoring of public and commercial television programmes by government ministries.


Last week it emerged that the government had spent almost €12m over two years sponsoring tv shows, ranging from show biz gossip items to weather reports.
