Police strikes continue despite offer

Striking police unions say they will not return to the negotiating table despite a new government pay offer and plan action to draw attention to their cause in Groningen on Wednesday, reports ANP news service.

On Tuesday home affairs minister Guusje ter Horst came up with a new offer of 6.25% over two years, with a rise of up to 9.25% for some 16,000 beat officers.
ACP union chief Gerrit van de Kamp told ANP that there was not enough negotiating room between the the unions’ demands and the latest offer from the minister.
