Number of local councils unchanged
The Netherlands will continue to have 443 local authorities in 2008, the first time since 1992 that there have not been any boundary changes, the national statistics office CBS said on Wednesday.
In 1936, the Netherlands had 1,064 local councils, said the CBS.
