Merged flower auction sees sales rise 4.6%

The merged Aalsmeer and FloraHolland flower auction booked sales of over €4bn last year, a 4.6% increase on pro-forma 2006 figures.


Sales of garden and house plants rose 10% to €1.5m, while cut flower sales were up 1.8%.
The new company has a workforce of 4,500 and handled some 11 billion cut flowers and 1.2 billion plants in 2007.
