Judges plan to introduce court tv

Judges are planning to broadcast important court cases on television and internet, reports Tuesday’s AD. Pilot broadcasts will be launched soon at Utrecht University where law students will be able to watch court proceedings during classes, the paper reports.

The plan was revealed by Erik van den Emster, the new chairman of the Raad voor de Rechtspraak which represents judges.. He told the AD that he wants a selection of cases to be shown on tv. ‘These can be murder and rape trials, but also lawsuits about strikes,’ he said.
