Dutch spend €19bn on eating out

The Dutch are eating out more often and spent a record €18.9bn in restaurants, cantines and petrol station cafes in 2007, an increase of 6.2% on the previous year.

The figures, released on Tuesday by market researchers FoodService Institute, show that the Dutch now spend 34% of their total food and drink budget outside the home.
