Cable giant to bid for football rights

Cable company Zesko Holding is planning to bid for the entire package of Dutch football broadcasting rights, the Telegraaf reports on Monday, quoting reliable sources.

The paper says Zesko is reported to have €100m a year available to buy the live broadcast, recorded highlights and radio rights. Bidding in the first round closes on Thursday.
Zesko was formed in January 2007 following the merger of Casema, @Home and Multikabel. It serves some 50% of Dutch homes and has 1.2 million broadband internet connections.
