Tourist spending reaches record level

Foreign tourists spent a record €9bn in the Netherlands last year, a 7% increase on 2005, says national statistics office CBS.

Tourist numbers were also up 7% to 10.7 million, the CBS says. Most tourists came from Germany (2.8 million) followed by the UK and US.
Tourist spending in the first nine months of this year is up 8%, the CBS says.
