Ten drown in failed rescue attempt
Up to 10 people, probably Algerian, drowned when a Dutch ship tried to rescue them from their tiny boat in poor conditions on the Mediterranean.
The ship’s owner said people on the overcrowded boat had signaled for the ship Fairpartner to come to their aid. But the tiny boat collided with the Dutch ship and capsized.
