Almost half the Dutch are to celebrate New Year at home, while 25% will visit friends and 12% still have no plans, according to research by the Staatsloterij lottery organisation.

Three-quarters of those polled do not plan to make any New Year resolutions.
Of those that are, 42% plan to eat more healthily, 36% want to do more sport and 22% say they will stop smoking.
