Minister backs health insurers on medicine
There is nothing wrong with health insurers only paying for cheaper generic drugs rather than expensive brand names with the same active ingredients, health minister Ab Klink told MPs on Tuesday evening.
Dispensing chemists this week launched a campaign against some health insurers’ preference for cheaper, patent-free drugs. They say that insurers are acting as doctors by dictating what medicines can be bought.
