‘Make parents attend court hearings’

The parents or legal guardians of young people under 16 who are accused of committing crimes must accompany them to court appearances, say a majority of MPs.


MPs say parents should be forced to attend because they are ultimately responsible for their children.
Justice minister Ernst Hirsch Ballin said the compulsory attendance of parents would be complicated, news agency ANP reported.
