Holidaymakers already paying eco tax

Holiday-makers booking vacations for next July and beyond are already being charged the new environmental tax even though it has not yet been approved by the upper house of parliament.

A spokeswoman for the tour operators’ organisation ANVR told news agency ANP on Tuesday that is is cheaper to charge customers now than get them to pay a supplementary fee later.
The new tax will add €22.50 to return flights of up to 25,000 km and €90 for longer distances.
