Growth slows in chemical industry

The Dutch chemical industry has lowered its estimated turnover for 2007 from 8% to 6.5%, umbrella organisation VNCI said on Tuesday.

The VNCI is also expecting a slow-down in growth in 2008 with turnover at between 4% and 5% due to the current economic climate.
However, production has grown by 3.5% in each quarter of 2007 and wholesale prices went up by 2.5%. Exports are expected to rise by 10% to €58.7bn, the lobby group says.
