European demonstration against Unilever
European trade unions are due to demonstrate in Rotterdam on Tuesday against the scrapping of 20,000 jobs at the Dutch food-to-detergents concern Unilever, reports ANP news agency.
The Dutch FNV trade union federation expects 500 employee representatives to take part in the action, says ANP.
Unilever announced in August that it will axe 20,000 jobs worldwide. According to the unions this means one in three people at Unilever will lose their jobs in Europe and workers fear a wave of forced redundancies.
