Dutchman to coach Australia soccer team

Pim Verbeek, who was involved with the South Korean football team for many years until his resignation in July, is to coach the Australian squad.

Verbeek (51) has been charged with making sure Australia qualifies for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
The Australian team, known as the Socceroos, have been without a permanent coach since fellow Dutchman Guus Hiddink quit after last year’s World Cup finals.
