Curly kale tops mash favourites

Mashed potato with curly kale (boerenkoolstamppot) is the most popular traditional Dutch mash, says smoked sausage maker Unox, in its first survey into stamppot eating habits.

Other popular versions are mashed potato with sauerkraut (zuurkool) and hutspot (with carrot and onion).
People in the north are more likely to eat stamppot than those in the south, Unox says.
