Afghan refugee becomes youngest MP
Nineteen-year-old Farshad Bashir is set to become the youngest Dutch MP in history when he takes over from Rosita van Gijlswijk after the Christmas break.
Bashir, whose parents came to the Netherlands as refugees from Afghanistan when he was nine, has been active in the Socialist Party for six years.
