Wild boar hunt with beaters banned
Hunters hoping to kill several thousand wild boar living in the Veluwe heathland region may not use beaters to drive the animals out, Amsterdam court ruled on Thursday.
The court has revoked the hunting licence granted by nature management minister Gerda Verbeek until all objections to the plan had been properly assessed. This is likely to take until January, news agency ANP said.
The court also said it has doubts about evidence that the boar are causing damage to property and are a traffic hazard in the area where the hunt is set to take place.
