‘Unofficial judge’ four back in custody

Four of the eight suspects released from custody last week because they had been remanded by a judge who was not yet officially sworn in are back in jail. They include a woman suspected of murdering her partner and a suspected rapist.
The law courts in The Hague decided on Tuesday evening that public safety weighed more than the rights of the suspects and overturned the decision of a court in Den Bosch to free the suspects.
In addition, the court pointed out that the two other judges on the panel had been sworn in.
