Sint beats Santa in spending stakes
The Dutch are planning to spend more on Sint Nicholas presents than on Christmas presents, according to research by Ernst & Young published on Monday.
The 1,000 respondents say they will spend an average of €102 on Sint Nicholas gifts and €74 on Christmas presents.
Toys account for 20% of the budget, with dvds and cds high on the wish lists, particularly for men.
