Property tycoon murdered in The Hague

The 47-year old property tycoon Victor ‘t Hooft has been found murdered in his home close to the queen’s palace. in The Hague, reports ANP news service.


Police were called to the scene following reports of a shooting incident on Wednesday evening. A search of the house and nearby woods failed to deliver results, said ANP.
‘T Hooft became well know a few years ago when a local councillor was forced to resign after the sale of the municipal’s housing association.
The sale of Woningbeheer was expected to generate €100m for the local council but it emerged that the association had sold off homes to ‘t Hooft, considerably reducing its market value.
