Pension administration company Cordares and pension fund foundation ABP have announced exploratory talks this week on a possible merger.
The merged company would manage a pension capital of €245bn for close to four million people.
ABP administers pension funds for civil servants and teachers with total capital of around €220bn, making it one of the largest pension funds in the world. Cordares provides pension management and income insurance for over one million Dutch people, with total capital of over €26.5bn.
