NS might call for chip ticket delays
Dutch Rail (NS) said on Thursday it did not rule out asking for a delay in the introduction of the ov-chipcard, the smart ticketing system which is due to replace all bus, tram and train tickets from January 2009.
‘Our customers should not be adversely affected by a too-speedy or careless introduction,’ a spokesman said, following reports in the Telegraaf newspaper.
The paper claims that NS is on the verge of writing to the transport ministry calling for a delay.
