Rotterdam club Feyenoord have reached the next round of the national football KNVB cup after an easy 3-1 win over FC Groningen last night.

Roy Makaay (32) scored all three goals for Feyenoord but remained level-headed about his performance. ‘It’s not my first hat trick and hopefully it won’t be my last. It’s always nice to score three in a row. But it wasn’t a surprise, I know I can do it,’ he told ANP press service.
A win against amateurs Deurne in the next round and Feyenoord will have a place in the quarter finals.
