Health insurers criticised over pay outs

Over a quarter (27%) of health insurance policy holders are unhappy with the amount of money paid out by insurers and almost 20% are not pleased with the way their claims are dealt with, according to research by online broker independer.nl.

In particular, the amount paid towards alternative therapies and dental costs are disappointing, the survey found.
Some 12% of the 1,800 people who took part in the poll said they plan to switch insurer this year. High premiums and better coverage are given as the most common reasons for making the move.
