A family in Borculo have found a wasp nest ‘the size of a skippy ball’ (diameter of around a metre) in the attic.

Pest controller Johan Dijkerman from Laren (Gelderland), who was called in to deal with the phenomenon, said he’d only encountered a nest this size once before in his 20 years’ in the profession.
According to Dijkerman, there could be up to 40,000 wasps inhabiting the ‘really abnormal’ nest.
The wasps have been exterminated and the pest control department of Wageningen University invited to examine the nest.
