Dutch pressured doctor over Libya

The Dutch foreign affairs department put pressure on Palestinian doctor Ashraf Gomaa Elhajouj not to make a formal complaint about his 8.5 year imprisonment in Libya, the Volkskrant reports on Thursday.


The doctor, who now lives in the Netherlands with his parents and four sisters, was jailed together with five Bulgarian nurses for allegedly infecting children with the HIV virus.
