Dutch hold on to their fixed-link phones

The Dutch are almost unique in Europe in that they still all have ordinary fixed link telephones alongside mobile phones, says EU statistics office Eurostat.

In 2005, only 4% of Dutch households did not have a land line phone, compared with 18% of Finnish and nearly half of Lithuanian households.
