Cabinet worried about anti-Koran film

The cabinet is concerned about a ‘provocative’ film by anti-immigration party PVV leader Geert Wilders about the Koran which is due to be shown on tv at the end of January, reports Wednesday’s Telegraaf.

The government is worried about a backlash from Islamic countries and is in talks with Wilders about the film together with the national terrorism coordinator Tjibbe Joustra.
A justice ministry spokesman told the paper: ‘The cabinet is doing all it can to prepare for a sudden and heavy discussion abroad and at home.’
Wilders has made a number of derogatory comments about the Muslim holy book comparing it to Hitler’s Mein Kampf and calling for its ban in the Netherlands.
