Unilever workers to strike on Wednesday
Unilever workers are to strike on Wednesday and will hold a demonstration in Rotterdam against the closure of three of the company’s six Dutch factories.
FNV union leader Lucas Vermaat told Tuesday’s NRC newspaper that the management at the food-to-detergents group is ‘chaotic and hard’ and that top man Patrick Cescau is ‘an idiot’.
The closures will result in around 475 job losses and are a result of the recent merger of Unilever’s Dutch and Belgian operations.
