Two Dutch Emmy nominations
The Netherlands has been nominated for two international Emmy Awards, reports Trouw on Tuesday. Pierre Bokma is nominated as best actor for his role in the tv film De Uitverkorene (The Chosen) and the film Valse Wals (False Waltz) has been put forward in the cultural programmes category.
De Uitverkorene, made for tv by Theu Boermans, is the story of the rise and fall of two deeply religious brothers, played by Bokma and Kees Prins.
Valse Wals is based on a performance by theatre group Orkater in which three phases from the life of a man and a woman are told through dance, mime and music.
The Emmy awards will be announced in New York on November 19.
