Train fares could rise 7%
The introduction of the prepaid travel card will mean an increase in train fares of 7% per kilometre says passengers watchdog Rover in today’s Algemeen Dagblad.
Rover says that public transport companies expect a drop in passenger numbers after the introduction and will compensate by raising the price. This is against agreements made with former and current transport ministers, the paper says.
