Shareholders call for distance on Stork

Stork chairman Sjoerd Vollebregt should keep out of negotiations between British investment house Candover and Iceland’s LME group on the future of the Dutch engineering company, according to the shareholders lobby group VEB.

VEB chairman Jan Maarten Slagter told Tuesday’s Financieele Dagblad that Vollebregt’s involvement could give the impression he was playing a double role.
Candover’s efforts to buy Stork were thwarted by the Icelandic company which wants to buy the food services division. The three sides are now in talks.
