The social worker in charge of the three-year-old girl Savanna who was starved and beaten to death by her mother, appears in court on Monday, charged with failing in her duties.
The public prosecution department says the social worker should have intervened. Social workers say if their colleague is found guilty hundreds of them will leave the service.
