No ban on traditional light bulbs

Environment minister Jacqueline Cramer has abandoned its much-criticised plans to ban traditional incandescent light bulbs. She said the market had already got the message about energy-saving lighting.


Instead, the government wants to introduce more informative labelling on lamps, telling consumers how much they cost when in use, the minister said.
