Mild weather means fewer deaths
As a result of the mild summer and less flu, 10,000 fewer people are expected to die in the Netherlands in 2007 than did in 2002, according to the national statistics office CBS.
The low number of deaths, predicted to fall below 132,000, is noteworthy because the number of elderly people has risen.
